Bhairon Ghati Hydroelectric Project
Bhairon Ghati Hydroelectric Project is proposed for
development using waters of Bhagirathi river upstream on the
Loharinag-Pala project in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. One of
the main tributaries of river Bhagirathi in the project area is Jad
Ganga; which meets Bhagirathi, some 90 km upstream of Uttarkashi.
The Bhairon Ghati village is located just upstream of the
confluence. The project with a proposed installation of 381 MW (3 x
127 MW) is envisaged to generate an annual energy generation of
1406.20 MU in a 90% dependable year.
