Bhairon Ghati Hydroelectric Project
Bhairon Ghati Hydroelectric Project is proposed for development using waters of Bhagirathi river upstream on the Loharinag-Pala project in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. One of the main tributaries of river Bhagirathi in the project area is Jad Ganga; which meets Bhagirathi, some 90 km upstream of Uttarkashi. The Bhairon Ghati village is located just upstream of the confluence. The project with a proposed installation of 381 MW (3 x 127 MW) is envisaged to generate an annual energy generation of 1406.20 MU in a 90% dependable year.

  · Under ground Power House - size 91.5m (L) x 21m (W) x 41.5m (H) size

  · Generator - 3 units of 127 MW each

  · Vertical Francis Turbine - 3 Nos.

  · Net head - 280.0 m

  · Annual Generation - 1406.20 MU

  · Project Cost - Rs. 2033.37 crore on June 2007 PL
